Girl with a Tassel Earring

This acrylic on wood self-portrait marked the embarkation of my #apaintingafortnight 2017 New Years resolution challenge. I'm completing a square Instagram friendly portrait every two weeks. I did not formally study painting, so this has not been as easy to achieve with the deadlines I've given myself. The title of this painting is a cheeky reference to Johannes Vermeer's famous 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' painting from 1902.
